Tripod Firepit & BBQ (£20 Lidl)

We bought this Tripod BBQ earlier this year. It looks a bit weird but is fantastic for camping. It has a chain which raises or lowers the cooking grid. We slowly cooked a whole joint of beef to perfection during a recent camping trip. After cooking all the food over charcoal we removed the whole tripod, loaded the pit with logs and all sat chatting around the fire till the early hours. Pure Camping Bliss.

Madrid Garden Firepit (Homebase £99)

We bought this Firepit a few weeks ago from Homebase and we love it. The individually laid mosaic tiles make it look far more expensive than its £99 price tag.

The instructions say not to use it on decking, but we do. To be on the safe side we bought a 500 x 500cm sheet of 5mm aluminium off of ebay (£12 + p&p). It fits under the firepit a treat, it protects the decking and stops us worrying.

Sitting around the firepit with family or friends on a dusky evening is just magical.
